Being a southern lady & wearing cute things is kinda a BIG deal! This part of my southern heritage I flaunt and wear as a badge of honor. Being cute is right up there with having good manners!

Dress Suggestions
This dress is a great option for a date, brunch (in person or virtual) or whatever you want! I don’t really believe in saving clothes for “special” occasions, everyday is a gift therefore deemed a special occasion.
Things I wouldn’t add with this dress is:
- A necklace. The bow is enough and doesn’t need any help!
- Printed shoes. The dress is printed and while I love pattern mixing, another print would take away from the dress.
If you live in a warmer climate like me then you will love the flowiness of this dress! Girl, we all need a BREEZE to blow in the unmentionable areas, you know what I’m talking about and if you are over 40 you definitely know what I’m talking about!
**Advice when wearing lighter colors on dark skin wear skin tone or black undergarments. This goes for white or light-colored tops & pants too**
The Goods
We all love our pretty floral panties, but we ain’t tryna see all that, sis we wanna see your fabulous outfit!
Things I would add with this summer dress:
- Wear good supportive undergarments! (if you don’t wanna wear SPANX, try Soma’s Vanishing 360 Modern Brief or Vanishing Tummy panties, I love both because they offer support, don’t move around, make me sweat more, and don’t leave a panty line AT ALL)
- Wear neutral shoes. Think tan, beige, or something in the brown family. My shoes are bronze and several years old.
- Add a clutch bag! This one from Banana Republic is from last season, but it still works!

A Leap of Faith
I took a leap of faith and met my girlfriend Lucy for lunch at Edith’s French Bistro, this was the first time I’ve had a meal in a restaurant since February!! I snagged this dress earlier this year and I was finally able to bust out this sweet lemon dress! That said, I doubt I will be venturing out to a restaurant again anytime soon, because I didn’t have a comfort level with my own mask wearing, seating arrangements, and I didn’t feel like people had enough self-awareness regarding personal space. I LOVED seeing my friend & it was so much better than video chatting, but I think I’m going to stay in my bubble a little while longer because I don’t feel comfortable going to sit down restaurants just yet.
For me it was great to get out of the house & see a friend, but make sure you do what is best for you and your personal situation. Take care and stay safe!
